. >> reporter: good morning to you, jon. san francisco giants mission rock project is being tauted by the team as one of the largest urban mixed use developments in the country. it would be a $1.6 billion project that would cover 24 acres here at pier 48 and parking lot a which is here. mayor ed lee of san francisco is expected to make a major announcement regarding this announcement. according to the chronicle it will be anchor brewing company agreed to have a facility here at pier 48 that would include not only a brewery but a restaurant and museum. the 100 plus-year-old company would keep the original location with this additional facility the brewery would quadruple the amount of beer it produces creating a hundred new jobs in the process. when the entire mission rock project is completed in 2017, it's expected to add a park, apartment, stores, office space, create just under 7,000 jobs for the city and bring in hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue. reporting live at pier 48, bob redell, "today in the bay." >>
